Terms of Service

1. Platform Role

Vang Vieng Stay acts solely as an intermediary booking platform connecting travelers with independent local business owners in Vang Vieng, Laos. We facilitate bookings for Guesthouses, Tours, Local Guides, Motorbike Rentals, and Buggy Car Rentals. We do not own, manage, or operate these services. The actual service provider (the "Owner") is solely responsible for the quality, safety, and delivery of the services rendered.

2. The "Request & Verify" Booking Process

• Booking Requests: Submitting a booking form on our platform does not guarantee a reservation. It initiates a "Booking Request" which is sent to the Owner for availability verification.
• Confirmation: A booking is only considered Confirmed once the Owner approves the request and you receive a final Confirmation Voucher via email.
• Declined Requests: If the Owner cannot accommodate your request (e.g., the vehicle or room is no longer available), the request will be declined at no cost to you.

3. Payment, Currency & Security Deposits

• Cash on Arrival: Vang Vieng Stay does not process online payments. All payments for services must be made directly to the Owner in cash (Lao Kip - LAK) upon check-in, arrival, or vehicle pickup.
• Pricing: All prices displayed on the platform are estimates in LAK and are subject to change based on the Owner's current rates. The final price agreed upon with the Owner at the time of pickup/check-in is the binding price.
• Security Deposits (Vehicles): For Motorbike and Buggy Car rentals, a cash security deposit and/or the physical surrender of a valid Passport or Government ID is required by the Owner at the time of pickup. This deposit/ID will be returned upon the safe return of the vehicle.

4. Cancellations

• Pending Requests: You may cancel any pending booking request instantly via your dashboard at no charge.
• Confirmed Bookings: If you need to cancel a confirmed booking, you must contact the Owner directly. Cancellation policies, including the potential forfeiture of your security deposit for vehicle rentals or late cancellation fees for guesthouses, are determined solely by the individual Owner.

5. User Responsibilities & Safety

• Identification: You must present a valid Passport or Government ID and your Booking Voucher (digital or printed) upon check-in or vehicle pickup.
• Vehicle Rentals: For Motorbikes and Buggy Cars, the renter must possess a valid, legally recognized driver's license for Laos. You are fully responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle, adhering to local traffic laws, and wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., helmets).
• Property Respect: You agree to respect the property, staff, and local regulations of the service providers.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vang Vieng Stay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or the services booked. This includes, but is not limited to, traffic accidents, vehicle damage, personal injuries during tours, theft, or travel disruptions. All risks associated with the use of rented vehicles and participation in tours are assumed entirely by the user.

7. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Any disputes arising from these terms or the services booked shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the local authorities and courts in Vientiane, Laos.
